Dr. Daphne Rixon is Associate Professor of Accounting. She has a PhD in accounting from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). She has over 20 years’ experience in the private and public sectors as Controller and Director of Finance. Dr. Rixon has a very productive research program which has resulted in over 80 peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Her current research focus is on key performance indicators reported by co-operatives and credit unions. Dr. Rixon’s work has been published by the Filene Research Institute, International Journal of Co-operative Management and the Journal of Co-operative Studies. She is Editor of the Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Reporting and is a member of the Editorial Board for Managerial Finance. In addition to her position of Associate Professor, she is also the Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) where she is responsible for the overall administration of CEARC, co-ordinating research projects and overseeing the development of International Statements of Recommended Practices for Co-operatives. Dr. Rixon teaches managerial and cost accounting in the undergraduate program as well as Financial Management in the Masters of Management for Co-operatives and Credit Unions (CME) program.

We have a particular focus on the UN SDGs.Indigenous Healthcare and Business Planning – together with Dr. Heidi Weigand, I have worked on a number of Indigenous research projects.
